STARTING HOURLY RATE:$29-$37 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCEABOUT USThe voters of the Village of Bluffton just passed a Safety Service tax increase which will allow us to hire full-time EMS staff that includes the hiring of a full-time EMS Chief. Bluffton is a small village with around 4,000 residents. Bluffton EMS call volume is around 800-900 calls per year. Bluffton EMS transports around 40% of our patients to Bluffton Hospital. We transport the other 60% to BVH in Findlay or LMH or SRMC in Lima. We currently have 2 ambulances, and we operate with an all-volunteer department. Our current volunteer EMS staff are 5 AEMTs and 7 EMTs. We are planning on hiring 6 full-time medics and EMTs implementing 24-hour shift coverage using the California shift schedule.POSITIONSUMMARYTheChiefisresponsiblefordeveloping,managing,andevaluatingallaspectsofdailyEmergency MedicalServices (EMS)operations, including theprovision of Advanced Life Support(ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) care to all patients encountered by the service.
