Cleveland Clinic's Mercy Hospital offers a wide variety of medical specialties to the communities in and around Stark County.The Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator identifies and recommends opportunities to improve care to positively impact the quality and cost of care for the Nursing Institute. A caregiver in this role will be part of the Trauma team, reporting to the Trauma Program Manager. Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital is verified as a Level II Trauma Center.This is an ideal role for a nurse with ED/Trauma experience, who is able to navigate EPIC and is knowledgeable about the standards set forth by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.This is a part-time position, 20 scheduled hours per week. The 20 hours are flexible, with shifts either occurring 8 a.m. 4:30 p.m. or 7 a.m. 3:30 p.m, OR 5 days of 4 hour shifts or a combination of 8 hours and four hours shifts.A caregiver who excels in this role, will:

Identify and recommend opportunities to improve care to positively impact the quality and the cost of care for the Nursing Institute.

Complete quality management activities and initiatives to evaluate nursing care practices. Complete data collection and analysis.

Identify opportunities for improvement and assist in implementing programs to improve quality scores and patient outcomes.

Monitor, collect data, evaluate, educate and assess patients.

Support overall nursing unit's outcomes.

Plan and conduct special projects as assigned. Handle daily nursing activities.

Communicate nursing quality initiatives and regulatory agency or other industry or professional standards to nurses and others.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:

Current valid State Registered Nurse (RN) license

Five years clinical registered nurse experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Knowledge of healthcare systems

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

Requires frequent standing and walking.

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Works under stressful conditions and requires irregular hours.

Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.

Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
