Job Description:Seeking a Construction Material Technician to perform testing and inspection services for various building construction projects. Responsible for performing on-site testing of concrete, soil, aggregates, asphalt, steel, and more to ensure they meet project specifications. Documenting test results & field activities daily and communicating directly with owners reps, project managers, contractors and other on-site personnel. Travel to job sites is required- mostly local but could be as far as IN and IL. Overtime and occasional Saturday work is required as necessary. Responsibilities:-Conducts quality control testing at project sites, including concrete, soils, masonry, asphalt, aggregate and reinforcing steel.-Inspects construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with state specifications, plans and/or proposals and bridge projects. -Verifies plan quantities and calculations with as bid plans, prepares and maintains project records and reports and performs other duties as assigned by the Project Engineer. -Notifies the Contractor or the Project Engineer with status updates or about non-conforming work. -Prepares and maintains project records and reports and performs other duties as assigned by the Project Engineer in a timely manner. Notifies the project engineer with status updates or non-conforming work.Skills & Qualifications:-Prior construction experience (labor, concrete, masonry, etc.)-High school diploma -Higher education in Construction Management, Engineering or related is a plus-ACI, Nuclear Gauge, NICET, NETTCP or other relevant certifications a plus-Strong report writing and field note taking skills -Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders -MUST be willing to travel as required - mostly local, but can be as far as IN and IL. -MUST be willing to work outdoors on job sites year-round-MUST be willing to work variable schedule as required by the project.
