You will be leading a team of 100+ sales executives, accountable for business development efforts across multiple regions, identifying opportunities for growth, and achieving revenue targets. As the Director, you will have a deep understanding of the logistics industry, with proven experience in managing sales teams, driving freight forwarding growth, and developing relationships with customers.POSITION IS BASED IN CINCINNATI, OH. RELOCATION PACKAGES PROVIDED.What you'll be doing:

Develop and execute the freight forwarding sales strategy for your aligned regions.

Lead, manage, and mentor a US-based freight forwarding sales team to achieve revenue targets, sales goals, and service agreements.

Establish and grow a collaborative and high-performance culture within the freight forwarding team.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Assist with negotiating and closing large, complex deals with freight forwarding customers, ensuring long-term client satisfaction and retention.

Collaborate with operational teams to ensure customer needs and service levels are met.

Oversee the preparation and analysis of international sales forecasts, ensuring accurate reporting of sales progress and financial metrics.

Regularly report on sales activities, pipeline statuses, and revenue performance to senior leadership.

Monitor international sales performance, identify areas for improvement, and adjust strategies as necessary to meet and exceed targets.

Collaborate closely with the marketing, operations, and customer service teams to ensure alignment between sales strategies and operational capabilities.

Work with the Pricing Team to establish strategies and pricing terms that are competitive in the freight forwarding market.

What you'll need:

8+ years of experience in freight forwarding sales, with at least 5 years in progressive leadership roles.

Proven track record of driving revenue growth and managing large, dispersed sales teams.

Strong knowledge of global logistics operations, freight forwarding, supply chain management, and transportation brokerage.

Experience in negotiating and closing high-value contracts with customers and steamship lines.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
