Public Outreach and Engagement Specialist

Jacobs is hiring a Public Outreach and Engagement Specialist to support delivery and growth in our electric transmission environmental planning portfolio, with additional opportunities to support water infrastructure and federal projects. The ideal candidate will contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams, working with engineers, scientists, and project managers in all phases of the execution and delivery of projects and proposals. This position requires strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to actively engage with multiple projects simultaneously. Identify public engagement and outreach needs for our client projects, including the development of client or project specific Communications and Engagement Plans.

Develop strategies to clearly communicate project information to internal and external stakeholders, including schedules, site or route selection processes, and engineering needs, using a variety of platforms from traditional publications to social media.

Coordinate and participate in the development of outreach materials to client standards.

Interact with regulators, local stakeholders, client development teams, and internal Jacobs team members in the local office and remotely.

Participate and coordinate set up of in-person and virtual open house platforms to provide project information to the public and solicit for comments.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, Public Policy, or related field

15+ years of experience in a related field in electric transmission, renewables, offshore wind, or related power industry

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Microsoft Office products.

Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational skills, a collaborative approach, and proven consensus-building ability

Applicable certifications: Certified Public Participation Professional (CP3), Master Certified Public Participation Professional (MCP3), or similar.

Processing information in a timely manner and follow up with the requesting customers. Monitors critical alarms, fire alarms and key distribution. Dispatch patient transporters for the handling and transport of patient to required destinations within the hospital.
