Location: UC Medical Center

Department: 8 Northwest, Acute Medicine

Hours: Part Time, 24 Hours/Week

Shift: 12 Hour AM

UC Health is hiring a Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Nurse (CN I) for the Acute Care Medicine on 8 Northwest unit for the Day Shift WOW at UC Medical Center.

The Acute Care Medicine Nurse will support the Medical Centers medicine and Level 1 Trauma Center, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures. Between our 3rd and 4th floor, there is a total of 52 beds with ratios ranging from 4 to 6 patients per nurse. Majority of patients are transferred from the Emergency Departments and occasionally lateral transfers from the main hospital that need an extended hospital stay.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

Associate's Degree, minimum required

Bachelor of Science in Nursing, preferred

Current OH RN License

The Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Nurse (CN I) is an individual who holds a current state license to practice nursing. The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. The care is culturally based and age-specific.Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises and coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care for each assigned patient in a collaborative effort with the other healthcare team members and patient/family within the time frame indicated by unit's standards of practice.Communicates formulated plan of care, as appropriate, to all levels of associates involved in the patient's care, and demonstrates ability to establish priorities of care based on patient's assessment and needs.Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment, and involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment, and continuing care of th
