This includes protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe, and helping find cures for cancer.How will you make an impact?The Sr Account Manager (NGS Sales) is a field-based position that is responsible for achieving and exceeding the assigned territory sales plan by driving awareness, education and implementation of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Next Generation Sequencing Oncology portfolio. Primary responsibilities will be to drive the enablement of clinical oncology customers through instrument placement and assay uptake within the defined geography: New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland & Washington D.C.The position must demonstrate deep technical credibility and effectively consult with existing customers and prospects to influence key decisions on technology and product choice and to handle internal resources and their deployment to drive customer success.A Day in the Life:
Develops and leads a business plan to meet or exceed business goals agreed upon with Thermo Fisher Scientific commercial management for the territory.
Effectively challenges to win projects vs. competitors. Successfully position our solutions to address performance, workflow, capability and budget.
Increase clinical lab utilization of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s NGS Oncology portfolio. Drive additional assay uptake across existing accounts with equal focus on targeting new customers not using our NGS Oncology portfolio including instruments and assays. Identify the applications, assays and protocols available and effectively convert the business.
Actively prospect and develop sales funnel in this rapidly growing and evolving marketplace in both new and existing accounts across the geography
Essential Capabilities:
Scientific Consulting Competence - Demonstrates deep technical ability and knowledge to advise customers on their oncology testing needs to improve technology utilization and promote/educate on current advances in protocols, assays and capabilities. Understands and navigates competitive and sophisticated offerings to the best position Thermo Fisher solutions.
Business Insight- Commitment to thorough territory planning and relentless commercial execution including accurate forecasting for instrument and consumable purchases.
Collaboration- Successful experience working in a matrixed team environment including cross divisional teams.
Ability to call within various levels of an organization including the lab, procurement, legal, middle management and C suite leadership.
Has extensive experience and a consistent record in Clinical/Life Sciences Sales
Strong technical competence in the areas of Next Generation Sequencing and advanced molecular technologies in the clinical oncology and/or translational market space
Strong intuition for business is also required to translate a successful account strategy into business results
Keys to SuccessEducation:
BA/BS or MS degree in Life Sciences, PhD preferred
Experience:
6+ years of Sales Experience in Clinical/Life Science with consistent achievement of sales goals
Experience in Executive-Level Customer Engagement
Experience in Next-Generation Sequencing, Capillary Electrophoresis (Sanger) Sequencing, Microarray and qPCR/digital PCR
Understanding of healthcare industry standards, reimbursement guidelines, and environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Shown technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Highly motivated and accepts a high-reaching and exciting work environment
Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and with broader teams when needed
Outstanding customer advocacy skills
Highly adaptable and independent
Ability to travel 50%
Fluent English- oral and written. Additional language skills are welcome.
Computer and internet knowledge. Use of remote sales skills.
Sales Force CRM and Microsoft teams experience
Valid driving license
Preferred Qualifications: Clinical Laboratory Management Experience, Clinical Laboratory Certification
