Job DescriptionAn employer is looking for a Senior Android Developer for a remote, contract-to-hire opportunity. The client is an enterprise grocery chain and as the Sr. Android Developer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of our flagship Android application.This team in particular is the Front End Personalization team, which provides customers with meaningful and relevant experiences when using the client app and shopping in stores. The back-end team would look into a customers account and pull up UPCs of frequently purchased items, while the front end team would manage what items are recommended and displayed when a customer goes to start their cart in the app.You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend developers, to deliver high-quality mobile experiences to our users.Key Responsibilities:Identify and uphold Android engineering best practicesCollaborate with designers & product managers to iterate on the design & implementation of our productWork with Backend Engineers to build and ship featuresMonitor app performance, watch for traffic drops related to site usability problems & rectify the issuesReview app and feature code, and plan future app upgrades with the development teamAssist in the development of features that will be put on the mobile app & in internal applicationsImplement responsible design principles to ensure that our app renders well on most devices and is accessibleStay up-to-date on emerging technologiesWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
