The Cincinnati Art Museum has an immediate opening for a part-time Back of the House / Kitchen Staff member for the Museums Hospitality department. This is a part-time position regularly scheduled 28 hours per week.

Position Summary

Under the director of the Executive Chef, the BOH/ Kitchen staff will assist in the preparation of culinary dishes for Art Museum patrons and to execute the menu to ensure a high level of performance, guest satisfaction and profitability. Guest satisfaction in our restaurant and catering events revolves around the food appearance, high quality of the food and overall dining experience.

Responsibilities

General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Responsible for preparation and production of high quality menu items that are accurate in presentation and in taste.

- Must be able to work in an efficient and sometimes expeditious manner to execute customer orders at and under designated deadlines.

- Follow and apply all food handling procedures in accordance to health departments guidelines.

- Assist in the development of menus & create and ensure adherence to recipes and product specifications. - - - Assist in training other staff as needed.

- Establish and maintain effective communication within the kitchen, be responsive to staff suggestions and concerns and work to resolve problems.

- Maintain effective working relationship with food and beverage supervisor, staff and Art Museum departments.

- Complete daily food orders based upon scheduled banquet events and projected levels of business.

- Assist in establishing kitchen goals, anticipate and resolve problems concerning all facets of the kitchen, anticipate trends, enact approved profit-oriented and cost saving ideas/activities.

- Conduct regular inspections of the entire kitchen/dishwasher area.

Requirements:

High School graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate required. Schedule flexibility and willingness to work on weekends is a necessary.

A degree in or working toward a degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or Restaurant Management from an accredited culinary school highly desired. Previous work in food service is a plus.
