About being a Dietary Cook at Easterseals Redwood:
Perform tasks in compliance with written guidelines and policies and procedures of Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
Participate in in-house training of direct care staff as requested by Dietary Manager.
Collaborate with Dietary Manager in the planning, preparing and serving meals that meet USDA requirements.
As delegated by the Dietary Manager, supervise dietary staff or volunteers in preparing, serving, and maintaining equipment that meets regulatory standards.
Collaborate with Dietary Manager in purchase of food and maintenance of inventory.
Prepare, label, and serve meals as scheduled for clients and staff. Meals (breakfast, lunch & snacks) are delivered to upper level for clients in Children's Services.
Communicate with Children's Services staff and act on requests for special food items and to accommodate changes in client attendance or growth in programs.
Work with dietary staff or volunteers in the preparation, service, & cleanup of kitchen area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What Easterseals Redwood needs from our Dietary Cook:
High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred: Two years or more cooking and food service experience, preferable in school, daycare, or nonprofit.
