Roto-Disc, Inc. is seeking the services of a qualified individual to lead its production department. The job includes working with hand tools and other shop equipment to assemble, test and ship industrial valves and related equipment. Strong aptitude in assembly of machinery is a must. Candidates with a background working in a machine-shop and/or assembly of industrial machinery will be given preference. Welding skills are highly sought-after (light-duty only - no structural welding).
Assemble valves according to job requirements as expressed by Management and on assembly drawings in a timely manner that
supports the company’s posted Production Schedule
Work with Engineering to perform testing & quality control of completed valves
Occasionally consult with company president about trends in company’s manufacturing process
Build wood packaging (crates) for finished valves
Load-in of parts and load-out of valves to freight carriers
Maintain organization of warehouse, shop & polish room
Work with Operations, Engineering and company president to identify solutions to various/occasional manufacturing issues
Work with Operations personnel to maintain supply of shop and grinding equipment
Perform specialized manufacturing/assembly functions & light machining of parts when necessary
Perform check-in, evaluation and write-up of valves returned for rebuild/repair according to established procedures
Perform periodic maintenance on various shop equipment
Perform specialized manufacturing/assembly functions off-sight at vendors when necessary
Other tasks as assigned from time-to-time by company President or as may be required
Physical Requirements: Significant lifting and manipulation of parts, some heavy. Frequent use of hand-tools, small machine tools and material handling/lifting equipment
Travel: Occasional travel offsite to local vendors. No overnights

40 hours per week. Some flexibility with regard to daily start time. Company can be flexible with candidate’s scheduling needs.
This position is not exempt from overtime-pay as per the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
