APRN Provider Neurology Inpatient or Neurosurgery Experience

The Department of Neurology at MetroHealth is expanding patient access to inpatient Neurology and Neurocritical Care and is looking for Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistants who are interested in making a difference! We are transitioning to a 24-bed multi-acuity neuroscience unit and are seeking highly motivated, adaptable individuals with an interest in caring for these patients to partner with experienced Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and physicians in a collegial and collaborative department. We will provide training in the neurologic exam, common acute neurologic conditions, neuroimaging, EEG, common neurocritical procedures and extensive onboarding/training before independent work.Qualifications strongly preferred:Nurse Practitioners with Acute Care Certification or Physician Assistants with inpatient neurology, neurocritical care or neurosurgery experienceResponsibilities will include:·Management of neurocritical care and step-down patients in collaboration with an attending physician·Management of regular nursing floor patients with neurologic disorders, mostly stroke or seizures·Provision of Brain Attack evaluation and treatment servicesRequirements to be consideredNurse Practitioner required credentials:·Graduate of an accredited DNP or MSN Advanced Practice Registered Nurse program·Current RN and APRN license in the state of Ohio·Board Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty.·Current BLS·Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or obtains within first year of practice·Meets the requirements/qualifications for medical staff clinical privileges in the specialty/department within MetroHealthMaintains a standard care arrangement with physician and renews as required by the Ohio Board of NursingPhysician Assistant required credentials:·Graduate of an accredited Doctoral or MS Physician Assistant program.·Current PA licensure in the State of Ohio.·Board Certification as a Physician Assistant from NCCP·Current BLS·Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or obtains within first year of practice·Meets the requirements/qualifications for medical staff clinical privileges in the specialty/department within MetroHealthMaintains a supervision agreement with physician and renews as required by the Ohio Board of MedicineAPPs at MetroHealth are afforded voting membership within the medical staff.
