Headquartered in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Navarro has active programs in place across the nation for DOE/NNSA, NASA, and the Department of Defense.We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asbestos Hazard Abatement Specialist to work on comprehensive investigation and remediation projects at NASA Glenn Research Center, including both the Lewis Field and Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility. Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough asbestos inspections and risk assessments on various structures and materials within NASA facilities.

Develop and execute comprehensive abatement plans to eliminate asbestos-related hazards.

Monitor and ensure air quality during and after abatement activities to protect personnel and the environment.

Coordinate with facility managers, safety officers, and construction teams to ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and NASA-specific regulations.

Provide expert advice on materials and methods for asbestos removal or containment.

Conduct post-remediation verification and clearance testing to ensure all asbestos materials have been effectively abated.

Maintain detailed records of abatement procedures, air monitoring results, and compliance documentation.

Lead training sessions and educational programs to enhance awareness and safety procedures related to asbestos hazards.

Requirements

Certification in Asbestos Hazard Evaluation and Abatement from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

A minimum of 3 years of experience in asbestos hazard assessment and abatement projects.

Familiarity with environmental regulations, including EPA and OSHA standards related to asbestos.

Proficiency in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and abatement tools.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively manage complex abatement projects.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with a diverse team of professionals.

Responsible for complete project life cycle of international systems, working independently and with emphasis on all customer-facing activities including implementing a strategic plan, including metrics and goals, in order to maximize the university\'s investment in Terra Dotta, Student Information System (SIS), and Student and Exchange Visitor System (SEVIS). The specialist is responsible for understanding the matriculation and immigration processes for international students and ensuring the accuracy of student records for all international students. The specialist will function independently to ensure systems meet the needs of the VISA office and enhance the customer service experience while facilitating compliance. Finally, the specialist will analyze data to identify trends and design and implement procedures and policies to meet growing needs. This position requires a familiarity with the university and its administrative and academic structure in addition to a working knowledge of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and Department of State (DOS) F-1 and J-1 regulations and procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ensure business systems solutions for the international student and scholar database (Terra Dotta) are functional and meet requirements.
