Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.Summary:Coordinates, plans, develops, implements, and evaluates education and health care services for patients. Collaborates with personnel to facilitate the accurate and efficient flow of patients through the health care system. Assists in the provision of clinical care for the bariatric surgery patient, working with patients as assigned by the bariatric coordinator. Assists the bariatric coordinator with access care facilitation and treatment planning functions. Supports providers with ambulatory clinic responsibilities for the bariatric surgical patient population across all sites. Plans for, delivers, documents, and evaluates the nursing care of patients in an assigned area in terms of their individual needs, according to the provider’s orders and in conformance with approved and recognized nursing standards of care, recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and administrative policy.Qualifications:Required:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing school.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Ohio.
One year of surgical care experience.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to communicate and collaborate with the health care team and a diverse patient population.
Good interpersonal skills.
Sound judgment, flexibility, initiative, and ability to use critical thinking skills and to problem solve.
Ability to prioritize and organize tasks with attention to task details.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Preferred:
Master’s degree
Professional Certification in Specialty Field (i.e., Certified Bariatric Nurse).
Previous experience with bariatric patients
Demonstrated ability to perform data entry.
Demonstrated ability to use computerized word processing software.
Familiarity with spreadsheets, databases, and patient registries
Knowledge of Epic electronic health record system.Physical Demands:
May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
Ability to communicate face-to-face, via phone, email, and other communications.
Ability to read patient records, reports, etc.
Dexterity to use a computer.
