Description:Work with Pre-Con Estimating Department in process set in place for successful completion of bid opportunities

Work with Project Management team to ensure successful hand-off of awarded bids and assist during the buy-out process if required

Establish and maintain a working relationship with the customer

Analyze blueprints to prepare accurate time, cost, materials and labor estimates

Develop Scopes of Work for Estimate Workbook

Ensure thorough and accurate quantity takeoffs as required

Solicit and review pricing from vendors and subcontractors with the assistance of estimating support staff

Effectively communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, specialty services, and equipment suppliers and ensure scope of work is complete as needed

Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labor and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications as required

Establish and maintain existing estimating procedures

Coordinate price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers and architects

Participates in site review, Scope of Work reviews, project hand-off, project closing and operational/sector meetings with Project Manager as required

Work with estimating associates to maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors nationwide

Consult and communicate with engineers, architects, customers, vendors, contractors and subcontractors as required

Participate in material and equipment purchasing for secured jobs as required

This would be a full-time W2 position through Actalent Services where you work as a true Consultant supporting the Construction firm's work. After being an Actalent consultant for 12-months, you will have the option to remain a consultant or have the opportunity to become a direct Employee to their firm. As an Actalent consultant, you would be paid an hourly wage & receive a paycheck weekly, receive benefits/insurance, and Holiday & Vacation pay



Skills:Estimation, Construction, commercial, bidding Additional Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in construction pre-construction roles

5+ years of commercial construction and estimating experience

Blueprint reading with mathematical analysis skills for job costing

Ability to make accurate quantity surveys

Ability and desire to be a "hands-on" estimator doing quantity take-offs and personally soliciting subcontractors during the bidding process

Leadership / management skills to work with assigned estimating coordinator

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and willingly to learn new takeoff software

Strong negotiation skills and attention to detail
