Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.Summary:In cooperation and conjunction with the Manager - Respiratory Therapy, plans/coordinates/evaluates all activities performed by staff in the Respiratory Therapy Department and Pulmonary Function Testing Labs. Contributes to the effective/efficient operation of the Pulmonary Practice. Maintains competency/proficiency with requisite skills to provide patient care to infant through adult patient populations as dictated by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), the Joint Commission, the Ohio Medical Board, and other regulatory bodies. Upholds the mission, vision, values and customer services standards of the MetroHealth System.Qualifications:Required:Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.Possess and maintain an active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).Possess and maintain an active Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) license from the Ohio Medical Board.Possess and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.3 years of progressive clinical Respiratory Therapy experience that includes supervisor responsibilities.Demonstrated clinical competence.Strong leadership, teaching, and mentoring skills.Strong customer service skills.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.Strong quantitative skills, including using personal computers and databases.Preferred:Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or other related field.Possess a Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).Possess an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) from the AHA.Physical Requirements:

May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.

May need to sit or stand for extended periods.

See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.

Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.

Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
