JOB SUMMARY

Performs duties required to keep building, meeting rooms and grounds ready for use. Operates and maintains building equipment and machinery. Performs preventive maintenance duties to provide satisfactory operation of facility and grounds. Moves and transfers supplies, office equipment, furniture, and recyclables. Performs basic maintenance duties. Coordinates the completion of tasks to ensure assigned goals are attained. Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Performs duties required to keep building, meeting rooms and grounds ready for use.

- Operates and maintains building equipment and machinery; performs preventive maintenance duties to provide satisfactory operation of facility and grounds.

- Observes and reports the need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures.

- Monitors equipment performance and provides recommendations to management.

- Ensures supplies and materials are available and equipment is in working order, and that rooms are maintained in neat and orderly condition.

- Handles GJM's recyclable items including paper, plastic, cans, metal, fluorescent bulbs, spent copier cartridges, etc.

- Collects information to identify and diagnose building needs. Informs supervisor about activities and issues that arise.

- Performs duties required to keep meeting equipment, building and grounds ready for use. Performs minor miscellaneous lawn and garden duties. Maintain landscaping throughout the property. Maintains safe conditions during the winter by removing snow from walkways and applying sand and/or salt.

- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures and ensure work and job site does not endanger others.

- Assists with pick-ups and deliveries, and processes incoming/outgoing mail and packages.

- Maintains copy room supplies and copiers.

- Handles packages and equipment. Moves and transfers supplies, boxes, office equipment, furniture, plans, specifications and recyclables. Empties trash dispensers. Sets up and tears down equipment for events, including sound equipment, tables, seats, and stages.

- Keeps records such as supply check list, uniform issuance and equipment maintenance. Performs monthly inspections as required.

- Assists other departments with the ordering and delivery of general office supplies.

- Manages time & work priorities as conditions change throughout the day.

- Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the District.

- Performs basic maintenance duties. Coordinates the completion of tasks to ensure assigned goals are attained.

- Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

- Candidate must possess a High school diploma or it's GED Equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

- Candidate must possess one (1) year of experience in position applying general customer service and business skills in a business environment.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS

- Candidate must possess a valid driver's license with a driving record in accordance with the District's acceptable guidelines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- Candidate must possess good verbal and written communication, customer service, attention to detail, multi-tasking and team building skills. Candidate must be able to exercise sound judgment, initiative, and time management, including prioritizing workloads based on time constraints. Candidate must be able to demonstrate accuracy when entering, updating and extracting data using mailroom spreadsheets, and possess basic mechanical inclination.

- Candidate must possess the ability to be reliable and punctual in reporting to work as scheduled.
