The Environmental Services Area Cleaner role is a steppingstone to other careers within Environmental Services and other departments within Cleveland Clinic.A caregiver in this position has the following shifts available:Area Cleaner:1st shift: 7:00am -3:30pm2nd shift (base plus shift differential)
3:00pm - 11:30pm
4:00pm - 12:30pm
Floor Technician1st shift: 7:00am -3:30pm2nd shift (base plus shift differential)
2:30pm - 11:00pm
3:00pm - 11:30pm
4:00pm - 12:30pm
Must be available Monday-Friday and work every other holiday and every other weekend: All shifts require availability to work every other weekend. A weekend includes working Saturday and Sunday together. When scheduled a weekend you would have 1 day off before the scheduled weekend and 1 day off after the scheduled weekend.A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Clean patient rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms and other assigned areas.
Stock paper items and other supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms and restrooms.
Follow scripting, policies and procedures on patient isolation and all Environmental Services technical and procedural standard operating procedures.
Follow and adhere to all hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements.
Complete one to three months of on-the-job training to learn departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning techniques and proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
A high school diploma or GED.

Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting and reaching.
Requires continuous walking and standing on hard surfaces.
Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.
Light Work - Exerting 11 to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
