The Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute cares for patients with a variety of heart, vascular and thoracic diseases and provides the highest level of patient care, innovative treatments and a welcoming environment to all.Cleveland Clinic's J8-3 Cardiac VIP Unit, also known as the "1921 Suites", is designed for the care of high-profile med/surg and cardiac step-down patients, such as celebrities, donors, doctors, caregivers, and more. You will gain a wide variety of experience caring for these patients, as well as overflow patients from cardiac, orthopaedic, neurology, cancer, hospice and other departments/units, as well as focusing on a patient's healing environment through Reiki, massage therapy, and bundled care.A caregiver in this position works 7:00pm - 7:30am.A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.

Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.

Assist with keeping patients' rooms clean and orderly.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

A high school diploma or GED.

Nursing students: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it during your new hire period.

State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA).

Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
