Reliability Engineer (Aerospace)

Description:Actalent is seeking an RCM Engineer (Reliability Centered Maintenance) to support a subcontractor at NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC). This position is full time onsite, in Cleveland, OH. Core Responsibilities: Analyzes the reliability in design, cost, prediction, estimation, analyses, and consumer satisfaction of company services/products. Develops the methods and measures of analysis based on customer and contractual obligations. Prepares reports, charts, and diagrams to disclose results for presentation and highlight areas for further investigation. Performs follow-up investigation to determine failures and product design flaws. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. Deploying root cause analysis (RCA) methods and tools on problems or failures that have resulted in consequential impacts related to machine downtime and / or maintenance expense. Participating in audits to measure and validate progression and performance in the organization’s reliability journey. Utilizing reliability centered maintenance (RCM) principles to optimize the equipment maintenance strategies: - Time based preventive maintenance is more effective than plan corrective maintenance. - Condition based (predictive) maintenance (CBM) is more effective than time based preventive maintenance. - Prevention of maintenance is the best comprehensive maintenance strategy. Serves as the facility RCA process champion and participates in failure analyses to identify corrective actions to eliminate failure modes or reduce the consequence of failure. Interacts with customer reliability engineers to share findings from failure analyses along with solutions to problems identified. Monitors equipment performance to identify reliability improvement opportunities. Mean time between failure (MTBF) Mean time to repair (MTTR) Examines defects and issues identified during PM and PdM activities and utilizes this information for PM optimization. Serves as the Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) PM subject matter expert for the organizationSkills:Reliability engineering, Process improvement, maintenance engineering, preventative/corrective maintenance, PM, estimation, design, reliability, root cause analysisTop Skills Details:Reliability engineering,Process improvement,maintenance engineering,preventative/corrective maintenance,PM,estimation,design,reliability,root cause analysisAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred, would take other Engineering degrees like Plant, Reliability, Industrial, Aerospace, Process) Certification as CMRP, CRE, CRL (within 6 months of starting) - Only need 1, covered by client 4 years’ experience with Reliability Engineering. Also, problem solving using root cause analysis methods. Candidate needs to explain. 4 years’ experience with predictive maintenance technologies (PdM). Candidate needs to explain. 4 years’ experience in planning & scheduling maintenance work and projects 4 years’ experience examining defects and issues identified during CBM, Preventive Maintenance (PM) and PdM activities.
