DescriptionIf you're looking to build your career in accounting, there's currently a Staff Accountant position through Accountemps that you may want to check out. This company is located in the Cleveland, Ohio region and is offering a dynamic, mulit-faceted short-term temporary-to-full-time opportunity where effort is rewarded. As Staff Accountant, your duties will include preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. The majority of time spent will be dedicated to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. And during the monthly close, your responsibilities will also cover various aspects of internal reporting. You'll also review schedules for the reporting processes, stay in touch with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and play an active role in compliance.Your responsibilities in this role
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Requirements
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel
Accounts Payable (AP) experience
Journal entries experience
Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
Solid understanding of bank reconciliations
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Efficient in ERP systems
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
experienced organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
