Windows and VMWare Server Administration -Full-Time Direct Hire! Modis, Inc. is seeking a Server Administrator for a full-time direct role in Cleveland, OH (remote during COVID). The Windows and VMWare Server Admin will work as a member of a collaborative team responsible for the administration, support, deployment and upgrade of server hardware/hypervisor/operating systems and backup & recovery systems by following documented procedures or researching and recommending new procedures as needed. . Qualified candidates will have 4+ years of Windows and VMWare Server Administration experience along with a Bachelor degree or a combination of education and certifications. Server Administrator Job Responsibilities Include :
Server/backup & recovery administration and server vulnerability management including the deployment/testing of identified security patches
Software distribution, administration of the Active Directory and IP address management (DNS/DHCP)
Verification that server monitoring is fully functional and second level triage of monitoring alerts
Work with technical and non-technical end users to provide second level support for system or service issues; provides guidance and instructions to first and second level support on the management of known production system problems
Complete projects and support tasks outside of normal business hours as necessary
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or advanced training and certifications from VMware (VCP, VCAP, or VCDX), Microsoft (MCSA or MCSE), and/or RedHat (RHCSA, RHCE, or RHCA).
Minimum of 4 years of work experience performing administration and support for a Windows server environment.
Experience in VMWare and building and supporting virtual servers.
PowerShell (or related) Scripting – Ability to develop new scripts based on requirements and being able to modify existing scripts to meet changing needs. Other scripting languages can apply.
Providing a high level of customer service through commitment and the desire to excel in technical skills and knowledge.
Work experience performing administration and support for a storage or backup & recovery environment is a plus.
