Job Title: Medical Biller
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Pay Rate: $15.50 - $15.75 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
Process and submit medical billing claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with insurance regulations.
Handle rejected claims and denials, working to resolve issues effectively.
Maintain detailed records of billing transactions and follow up on outstanding accounts.
Communicate with insurance companies and patients regarding billing inquiries.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy requirements when handling client information.
Collaborate with diverse populations, including clients and community organizations, to facilitate billing processes.
Utilize Avatar (EMR) and Microsoft Office software for billing operations.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years of previous medical/behavioral health billing experience.
Required Medicaid billing experience.
Preferred experience with Avatar (EMR) system.
Strong understanding of the insurance and reimbursement process.
High school diploma or GED; relevant education or certifications are a plus.
At least 1 year of experience dealing with rejected claims and denials in behavioral health.
Excellent problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrated patience and courtesy when interacting with clients.
Good working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software.
