A Landscape Mechanic is responsible for performing complex on-site diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on landscaping equipment. All employees are expected to carry out the company’s purpose and demonstrate our core values.
As a Landscape Mechanic you must be able to perform the following essential functions of the job:
Perform complex on-site diagnostics and repairs on commercial lawnmowers and 2-cycle engines (string trimmers, edgers, back blowers).
Maintains condition of service vehicles, trailers, inventory, tools, and equipment.
May establish and implement effective stocking processes to maintain the proper seasonal parts inventory.
Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
Completes all required forms and paperwork for work assignments.
Account for all time and materials being used during repairs and maintenance.
Follow all company policies and procedures.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions including wet, rain, snow, or extreme heat or cold
Advanced understanding of mechanical equipment maintenance
Critical thinking and ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance on equipment or vehicles
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver’s license is required, with acceptable driving record to meet fleet insurance standards
Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
Must be able to move and/or lift up to 75 pounds consistently
High school diploma or GED, preferred
Ability to operate the equipment listed above, in addition to other commonly used landscaping equipment
Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair and/or maintenance of equipment and vehicles
