Quality Manager
The Quality Manager at Custom Materials is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the quality management system (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 standards. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who will oversee quality documentation, logs, and inspections, ensuring that all processes meet the company's quality objectives. The Quality Manager will also lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies while managing a team of quality professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
ISO Compliance- Maintain Quality Documentation and Ensure the Organization remains registered to ISO 9001 Standards
Quality Management Logs-Maintain Non-Conformance (NCM), Corrective Action Request (CAR), Quality Objective spreadsheets, Bushing test Log, Cost of Poor-Quality Spreadsheet
Inspections and Reviews-Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) to ensure Product Compliance, Review Daily Purchase Order Receiving Processes, Oversea Certifications, Review daily completed Work Order Travelers, Review Customer Orders
Documentation and Process Development-Generate and Update the required Work Instructions, Process Maps, and other Documentation to reflect current Practices/Improvements
Continuous Improvement- Participate as a Team Member in Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to Drive Process Improvements and Reduce Waste
Team Management-Manage and Oversee Direct Reports, provide guidance, support, and Performance Evaluations to foster a High-Performing Quality Team
Training and Development-Develop and Implement Training Programs for Staff on Quality Standards, Processes, and Tools to enhance overall Quality Awareness and Compliance
Customer Interaction- Serve as the Primary Contact for Customers regarding Quality Issues, Give Timely Feedback and Resolution to Concerns and Complaints
Audit Participation-Lead Internal Audits and Assist with external Audits to Ensure Compliance with Quality Standards and Regulations
Data Analysis and Reporting- Analyze quality Data and Metrics to Identify trends, Areas for Improvement, and report Findings to Senior Management
Supplier Quality Management- Collaborate with Procurement to Assess and Manage Supplier Quality Performance, Ensuring that Suppliers Meet Quality Standards and Specifications
Cross-Department Collaboration-Work Closely with Other Departments, such as Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain, to Promote a Culture of Quality and Continuous Improvement
Preferred Qualifications:
-Certification as a Quality Manager (e.g., CQE, CQM)
-Experience with Quality Management Software and Tools
-Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Root Cause Analysis Techniques
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Management, Engineering or a Related Field
-Proven Experience in Quality Management, preferably in a Manufacturing Environment
-Strong Knowledge of ISO 9001 Standards
-Experience with Lean and Six Sigma Methodologies
