RELAM Inc. is seeking entry level certified to highly trained and experienced Diesel Mechanics with true grit, and an excellent work ethic, to join our team!

>>Entry Level- Less than 3 years of experience -OR- new graduate with ASE Certification -OR-

>>Intermediate: 5 Years diesel overhaul experience OR 3 years Direct in MOW or heavy equipment overhaul preferred -OR-

>>Master:7 years of experience with MOW or 10 plus heavy equipment overhaul supervision or leadership skills HIGHLY PREFERRED.

Do you bring a second or more craft(s) hydraulic, electrical schematic and repair and/or welding/ fabrication experience

If so, please highlight within your resume. Extra Craft skills always Highly preferred!

ALL Mechanics MUST be TRAINED on MOW equipment if no prior experience in overhauls of "Maintenace of Way" Railway equipment! NO EXCEPTIONS!

This is a full-time position that requires a minimum of 40 hours per week. The Mechanic will be responsible for the diagnosis and repair of diesel engines in MOW- Maintenance of Way equipment. Position Overview:

Qualifications:

>High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

>Diesel Technology Technical Associate Preferred!

>Ability to lift at least 75 pounds, if in doubt use the hand trucks and booms available.

>Must have a valid driver’s license.

>>Entry Level- Less than 3 years of experience -OR- new graduate with ASE Certification -OR-

>>Intermediate: 5 Years diesel overhaul experience OR 3 years Direct in MOW or heavy equipment overhaul preferred -OR-

>>Master: 7 years of experience with MOW or 10 plus heavy equipment overhaul supervision or leadership skills HIGHLY PREFERRED.

>Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

>Experience with all MS Office applications is required for entry level to Master.

>Preference to those who have bring a secondary craft skill of electrical, hydraulic and/or welding experience. All three skills highly preferred with certification.

Responsibilities:

>Performs both scheduled and emergent repairs on a variety of Maintenance of Way (MOW) equipment in a cost-effective manner.

>Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair any mechanical, hydraulic or electrical defects or issues.

>Complete and submit properly filled maintenance, return inspection, additional repair inspection fluid usage record, or other as necessary.

>Handle environmental issues in an appropriate and timely manner such as proper disposal of fluid spills, filters, or any other materials as necessary and per MSDS.

>Comply with all Company safety policies and procedures; must wear required personal protective equipment. Understands and applies company safety practices of DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA rules and regulations.

>Full tool spectrum, level one through four.

Experience:

Diesel engine repair: 3 years (Required)

Electrical and Hydraulic: 2 years (Preferred)

Fabrication: 1 year (Preferred) Pass Welding Inspection

License/Certification:

ASE Certification (Preferred)

Welding and Fabrication Certification

Must have the Ability to Commute -OR-Relocate before starting work (Required)
