Position Description: Leads, directs and coordinates the work of subcontractors and/or Turner trade labor with regard to the Mechanical and Electrical systems included in the project. Responsible for ensuring safety, schedule delivery, quality of work performed and adherence to budget of the project. The Superintendent Mechanical-Electrical has supervisory responsibility for Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, Interns and trade labor in his/her area of responsibility.
Reports to: Project Superintendent, Project Manager or MEP Manager
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Specifically relating to the mechanical and/or electrical systems (e.g. HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Low Voltage, Fire Sprinkler):
Managing and making decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade employee staffing levels.
Managint work among assigned trades to promote a coordinated project operation. Resolving local area problems regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor and equipment, schedule and all other appropriate matters.
Managing the overall site safety program as required and ensuring subcontractor compliance with Turner standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
Supervising and developing Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers and/or interns, as assigned, including providing input on or completing performance appraisals.
Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements at all times.
Creating schedules and determining sequencing of work. Developing and implementing recovery strategies to maintain project schedule and budget.
Communicating with owners and architects/engineers in connection with field issues. Investigating and resolving such issues.
Managing the billing process as it relates to work in place and overseeing the monthly estimate of work completed, payrolls, material invoices and subcontractor payment applications.
Managing the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents.
Working with the Engineer on the coordination effort for all mechanical and electrical systems, equipment and piping layouts for all trades on a master coordination set of drawings and 3D model securing the approval of the architects and engineers.
Leading project inspections, startup, commissioning, turnover and training process, and punchlist required for acceptance and handover of all the systems.
Coordinating, directing, and monitoring the activities of subcontractors and suppliers, to insure conformance with plans, specifications, local and national codes.

Position: Senior Project Manager

We are looking for a talented engineer who is looking for the opportunity to work on exciting projects in our Indianapolis, IN office. In this role you will be a part of a large and experienced team and contribute to utility infrastructure designs and mentoring of less seasoned staff members as we contiue our growth. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated with a strong technical background. 10+ years of engineering experience is required. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for client interaction and career advancement. Must be a registered Professional Engineer in Iohio.
Responsibilities
Plan, direct, and coordinate all activities of the project to ensure that goals or objectives of these projects are accomplished within prescribed funding and schedule parameters
Prepare proposals, fee justifications, and contracts for each project in conjunction with the Team Leader, Group Leader, and Principal-in-Charge
Establish a project work plan for each project which includes essential elements of the project with major milestones and potential roadblocks, the project schedule, and the financial plan that includes the project budget, a man-hour utilization forecast, and a billing forecast
Monitor and control the project financial plan, review project cost sheets, and prepare monthly invoices for each project
Prepare monthly cost/profit analysis and billing projections for each project
Coordinate with the Team Leader and other project managers for allocation of personnel to staff each project
Coordinate each project with other department\'s schedules through the Team Leader and Group Leader. Ensure productivity and cooperation among the project team.
Coordinate each project with subconsultant\'s work schedules
Aggressively seek additional compensation for work outside the original scope of each project. Prepare contract amendments as necessary.
Serve as representative of firm at all required project meetings, presentations, and public hearings, and prepare documentation of items discussed
Perform an in depth review of all the essential elements of each project and update the project work plan near the completion of each major milestone
Maintain design book and correspondence file for each project
Monitor electronic file and plan organization and archiving
Technical Leadership:
Direct and coordinate activities of design engineers and technicians to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
Mentor and provide direct hands-on assistance when teaching new design elements, oral and writing skills to desig

Position: Resident Project Representative/Project Engineer - Project Manager

Responsibilities
Inspect construction work on transportation and utility infrastructure projects to document conformity to construction standards and specifications
Complete and maintain records of field observations, including daily reports outlining the work performed, as well as field measurements and computations for the quantity of completed work eligible for payment
Perform material sampling and testing on applicable materials such as soil sampling, compaction tests, concrete tests, etc.
Perform project administration duties such as preparing monthly pay applications and change orders for presentation to client
Assist other project management staff with identifying problems and developing viable solutions for consideration
Management/leadership of other construction supervisors and inspection staff on multiple projects
Review construction documents for constructability issues and provide feedback to owner/designer
Respond and facilitate responses to RFI\'s from contractors
Serve as a representative of the firm at all required meetings, leading client coordination throughout the construction progress. Prepare meeting minutes including discussion topics, major decisions, action items, and information needs
Willing to work in extreme temperatures as some work assignments are outdoors. Applicant must have the ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing and walking for long periods of time.
Qualifications
Associates degree, or greater, in related field of study or equivalent of 5+ years of experience through construction and/or inspection services
Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
Basic knowledge or ability to gain working knowledge of quality requirements for construction materials
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and standards
Strong interpersonal communications skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Previous INDOT, KYTC, or local agency construction inspection experience is preferred
INDOT Certified Technician, Qualified Technician, and SiteManager Certification are preferred
Valid Driver\'s License
