Depression Research Study

We are looking for potential participants to take part in a study for people who suffer from depression who:

Are experiencing symptoms of depression or major depressive disorder

Have been experiencing an episode of depression for at least 8 weeks and less than 2 years

Study-related visits, assessments, study drugs, and an approved antidepressant treatment are all provided at no cost. Qualified participants may receive compensation for study related visits and travel.

Cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • Research Assistant - RI Cardio Zhao Requisition ID 2024-53095 Category Research Overview A Research Assistant is immediately available in Dr. Mingtao Zhao\'s laboratory in the Center for Cardiovascular Research at the Nationwide Children\'s Hospital/Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. The Zhao lab is using patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, and functional genomics (single-cell genomics) to study the molecular and genetic mechanisms of cardiovascular development and congenital heart disease. Sucessful candidates are expected to perform human iPSC reprogramming and cardiac/vascular differentiation, and help PI maintain the routine laboratory management including writing IRB protocols, place lab orders, and coordinate with other labs in the Center for Cardiovascular Research. Candidates with experience in stem cell culture, organoid development, and CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing will be given priority. The Center for Cardiovascular Research currently has a NIH-funded T32 postdoctoral program to provide interdisciplinary, translational, and state-of-the-art research training in congenital and acquired heart disease, partnered with the Ohio State University College of Medicine.
