Accurately model transmission system topology, including impedance and facility ratings for lines, generators, and transformers.
Utilize company-internal modeling database, PSS/E, and/or ASPEN OneLiner.
Fulfill system modeling requests from Engineering and Operations personnel via ServiceNow ticketing system.
Collaborate with internal/external teams to model planned projects and build power flow and short circuit model cases.
Participate in project planning and organization.
Perform electrical transmission system analysis and protection system studies.
Address activities related to NERC Compliance standards.
Skills:
Demonstrated experience modeling transmission and generation system topology using ASPEN OneLiner and/or Siemens PSSE for various voltage levels.
Experience modeling inverter-based and synchronous-based generation, transmission lines, transformers, and circuit breakers.
Ability to conduct transmission system fault studies, including circuit breaker duty analysis.
Familiarity with NERC Compliance Standards.
Experience in process improvement, including development, implementation, adherence, and training.
Proficiency in comparing and evaluating data from different sources, and performing data cleanup activities as needed.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in engineering with a PE license, or
A Master's degree in engineering from a university with an ABET-accredited Bachelor's program.
Typically 2 or more years of related engineering experience.
