Environmental Services Manager Columbus, OhioOur client is expanding their Environmental Service consulting division in their Columus, Ohio office location, and, to do so, they are currently hiring an Environmental Services Manager with strong ties in this Professional Community.This role will focus on building services to support customers on environmental liabilities /environmental protection services (consulting services that will eliminate costly liabilities and project delays by providing to clients sound environmental advice / environmental due diligence studies, e.g., phase I & II ESAs, hazardous waste characterization, hazardous material surveys, and indoor air quality testing, etc.). Candidates must have good business development, technical, and people management skills.Duties will include prospecting, appointment setting, presentations, pricing/proposals, relationship building, and account management to end across many industries.Sales Responsibilities include:Identify, research and secure new business opportunities utilizing prospecting skills and community/business networking to increase revenue, improve contribution and diversify within product lines and industries supported.Develop sales strategy in concert with district and divisional business plans utilizing strategic planning process that encompasses company, market and industry trends in order to ensure coordination of efforts to achieve goals.Develop and maintain relationships in the local scientific community to develop, enhance and maintain knowledge base of industry changes and community needs, as well as development of business and industry relationships to enhance sales and recruitment opportunities.Maintain knowledge of industry standards, changes, and trends both nationally and locally.Qualifications:Candidates must have good business development, technical, and people management skills.Master’s or PhD degree in environmental engineering or sciences, i.e., geology, botany, biology, or natural resource management, or related field.Professional Ties / Accreditations to Environmental field preferred. These may include credentialing such as a (Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Professional (CP), Certified Professional Geologist (CPG) and/or Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS), etc.10 plus years of hands on business development and technical experience in consulting and/or regulatory environment for conducting ecological, remediation design, permit and/or task order/grant writing projects.Must have proven business development skills and must be able to grow the business and add new clients.Must have practical experience in preparing proposals, developing project approaches/plans, managing the ODOT and/or other governmental agencies’ task order contracts.Proficient in developing project cost estimates, assigning project responsibilities, scheduling, client meetings /interactions, documenting project activities, meeting project deadlines, and invoicing, etc.Microsoft Office product experience is required for completing reports and presentations and experience with other technical software programs is a plus.Willing and physically capable of working in the field, if and when necessary. Some overnight travel will be necessary but will not be the norm after the first six months.Be able to manage personnel and services in multiple offices in multiple states.Good organizational and communication skills.Maintains a valid driver’s license with a good driving record About our client:Established track record of over 93 years for providing various engineering, geotechnical, construction inspection, testing, and environmental services to its clients.
