Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Instructional Responsiveness & Content KnowledgeOne-to-One Check In's with students, classroom coverage as needed, leading extracurricular activities like leading Marching Band and attending athletic events.Craft, internalize, and implement high-quality, challenging, and engaging lesson plans teaching Music, Marching Band, and or Orchestra- assessing student progress, and organizing concerts and other musical events.The instructor will also be responsible for tracking student growth in reading music overtime- re-teaching and follow-up lessons, assessing student progress, and organizing concerts and other musical events.Care of Students & Classroom CultureBuild a classroom culture that empowers students, affirms their identities, and creates a sense of belonging for all studentsImplement the school-wide and classroom management policies and practicesCreate a responsive and inclusive environment for parents and familiesInternalize and prepare lessons focused on music development. Maintain accurate grade book, and track communication with parents.Establish and maintain working relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.Team SupportAttend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and team meetings.Participate in the daily functions of the school such as morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties.Embrace and incorporate feedback in the spirit of constant improvement.Meet professional obligations including timeliness and consistency in meeting deadlines.
