About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager within the Commercial Auto Group.The Commercial Auto Underwriter partners with the Commercial Auto Relationship Manager to manage client credit relationships.This position is responsible for executing sound and consistent underwriting and account management of commercial loan risk while recognizing the need for a balanced commitment to loan, deposit and fee growth, relationship profitability, and customer retention and credit quality.

Underwriting large, complex commercial loans including floor plan, real estate, and acquisition financing.

Underwrites loans with aggregate credit exposure based upon experience level.

Compiles, analyzes, and documents loan data and credit risk, borrower and property information, and coordinates activity in support of credit approval process.

Investigates credit standards and determines credit worthiness of credits in an assigned portfolio, understands financial statements and reports for the specific area of business.

May perform research and analysis related to loan projects, such as industry studies and management reports.

May negotiate loan structures and terms.

In this role, you will:

Execute the underwriting and structuring of commercial credit to meet client needs, using credit analytics, capital formation expertise, and sound business judgment.

Partner with Sales Managers and Relationship Managers to achieve segment goals, communicate risk parameters for new potential deals, identify and cultivate selected prospects, and coordinate underwriting and closing procedures.

Partner with numerous groups across the Bank to provide the best client solution while balancing the risk to the bank.

Maintain feedback loop with customers, as well as sales partners, to monitor quality of customer service and internal partnerships.

Maintain regular contact with the largest and/or highest risk customers in the assigned portfolio.

Identify deteriorating credits quickly and develop action plans together with management and Relationship Managers.

Meet with customer/prospects to gather and analyze information and reach appropriate decisions regarding loan approval and structure.

Lead projects and teams or serve as a mentor for less experienced individuals

Required Qualifications, US:

4+ years of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

8+ years of commercial auto underwriting experience

8+ years of commercial banking experience

Knowledge and understanding of underwriting or evaluating commercial credit

Knowledge and understanding of financial analysis, statements and accounting concepts

Knowledge and understanding of auto finance industry

Commercial loan experience

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to interact with all levels of an organization

A BS/BA degree or higher

Job Expectations:

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
