The OpportunityReporting to the Student Recruitment and Enrollment Manager and in partnership with the school-based Operations team, the Student Recruitment Ambassador plays an important role in building relationships with the community and prospective families, raising awareness of KIPP Columbus, and supporting student recruitment and application goals.KIPP Columbus seeks enthusiastic, relationship-oriented, detail-oriented, and mission-driven individuals for the role of Student Recruitment Ambassador. Student Recruitment Ambassadors serve as a welcoming and visible representative of KIPP Columbus in the community and are often one of the first points of connection for prospective families.Student Recruitment Ambassadors will receive leadership training to support the implementation of student recruitment and outreach activities, build meaningful relationships with prospective families and community partners, and help expand awareness and visibility of KIPP Columbus and its schools.Through a part-time commitment of 25 hours per week, Student Recruitment Ambassadors will work both independently and as part of a team to connect with the broader community, participate in recruitment and community events, engage directly with prospective families, and help generate applications for KIPP Columbus. Ambassadors will play an important role in creating positive experiences for prospective families and helping them learn more about KIPP Columbus, our mission, programs, and opportunities.This role is a temporary and flexible part-time hourly position that requires work on some weekends, evenings and/or holidays.Key Responsibilities:Community Outreach and EngagementCollaborate with community organizations, schools and local businesses to establish partnerships that promote our school and expand our reach.Identify and develop partnerships with community based organizations that could amplify or promote KIPP through their networks, events, and other communicationsActively participate in and represent KIPP Columbus at external events, such as fairs, open houses, and community events in order to engage with families, answer inquiries and disseminate information about our school’s programs and offerings.Research and plan for opportunities to attend community events in order to promote our Student Enrollment Lottery to support application goals.Identify and plan for opportunities to participate in events around the school community throughout the school year.Support the organization and hosting of events that welcome community organizations and leaders to the school community
Internal EngagementActively participate in our internal family events, serving as a point of contact for families, addressing any concerns or questions they may have, and encouraging families to promote KIPP Columbus’s programs and opportunities.
Student Recruitment ActivitiesCollaborate with Regional and School Ops leaders to prepare and implement outreach activities to recruit new families and students to KIPP, including flyering, canvassing and tabling in the school communityHold 1:1 conversations with current and prospective families and students
Lead ManagementConduct independent outreach to families based on predetermined criteria.Ensure consistent and predictable communication with families who have expressed interest in our school.Guide prospective families through our enrollment process and platforms.
