Katalina’s Cafe, in Columbus, Ohio, is looking for part-time and full-time Prep Cooks to prepare Katalina’s original scratch recipes. The Prep Cook at Katalina's participates in the daily activities including the production of prep items and ensuring that all food maintains the highest level of quality, safety, freshness, and consistency. Prep Cooks Report directly to the Kitchen Manager (KM) and works to uphold the company values and goals of Katalina’s Cafe through their work. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead prep
- Ensure prep lists are complete according to pars.
- Ensure opening and closing checklists are completed.
- Assist in training kitchen personnel on prep and provide guidance and mentorship; constantly seeking to improve quality standards and productivity of the production team while also minimizing waste.
- Understand and comply consistently with Katalina’s Cafe standard portion sizes, cooking methods, brand standards and health policies and procedures.
- Maintain pars for prep recipes and ensure that the production cooler remains stocked, especially during prime hours of operation.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 30 pounds.
-Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
- Ability to communicate clearly with managers, cooks and servers.
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures.
- Serv-Safe certification preferred.
Must be available on weekends!
