We are now hiring for a full and/or part-time Kitchen Team Member at Shadowbox Live in Columbus Ohio.
Do you thrive in a creative environment working with like-minded people? Shadowbox Live could be the place for you! Shadowbox Live is seeking a PT and/or FT Kitchen Assistant to join our amazing team of Meta performers to assist with day and showtime kitchen operations.
Located in Columbus, Ohio, Shadowbox Live is the nation's largest full-time resident theatre ensemble, producing a diverse body of bold, genre-shifting original work that seeks to challenge audiences through the shared joy of live performing art. The artists, known as 'metaperformers,' not only deliver captivating performances but also curate immersive dining experiences before each show. The position would work alongside the artists themselves as they create the preshow experience prior to their original performances.
Duties:
Assist with preparation of food such as chopping vegetables, construction of salads, pizza, sandwiches, and nachos.
Ensure proper sanitation of kitchen by following proper cleaning protocols and utilizing cleaning tools, such as sweepers and mops in accordance with the Health Department regulations
Display a proficiency of all Shadowbox Live menu, banquet recipes, service stations and kitchen equipment
Uphold current operational systems put in place by the Kitchen Manager and Accurately report conflicts to the Kitchen Manger
Ensure proper shut down of kitchen at the end of day
Execute any additional duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Have reliable transportation
Must be comfortable working with kitchen appliances such as Deck and Range ovens
Must be comfortable working with kitchen utensils such as knives
Must work well with other team members
Must be able to follow Standard Operating Practices to ensure the safety and cleanliness of kitchen.
Must be able to follow recipes
Must Display a willingness and flexibility to swiftly adjust to changes
Must maintain a calm and positive attitude
Benefits:
Compensation dependent on experience and ranges from $14.00 to $16.50 per hour
Opportunity to attend shows with comped admission (subject to the Marketing Directors approval)
Schedule:
Flexible Schedule.
Hours may vary week to week, but hours would fall between PT20 and FT34 hours/week.
There is a need for full daytime hours (10a-5p) on Wednesday.
The evening/weekend hours follow the SBX performance schedule: Typically
Thursday 5p to 10:15p
Friday 5p to 10:15p
Saturday 5:45p to 10:15p
Sunday 12n to 4:45p
No Mondays
