MATERIAL HANDLER 2ND SHIFT

This position is responsible for ensuring orderly production and distribution of products by pulling raw materials from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product for final distribution.

Work Schedule:

2nd Shift is 1:45 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

Contributes to the orderly operation of materials storage areas.

Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.

Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.

Maintains in-process inventory by delivering and opening materials and supplies.

Documents materials and records units delivered and location of units.

Receives credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supply codes, lot numbers, and quantities.

Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs.

Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items.

Keeps inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.

Learns and adheres to workplace safety rules and regulations; required to be medically cleared to use a respirator dust mask and be authorized and trained on how to properly use one.

Proficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines

Knowledge of inventory control

Data entry and RF Scanner skills

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED

Previous stock or inventory experience a plus

Previous experience operating a forklift and pallet jack a plus

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Regularly

Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl

Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls

Talk and hear to coordinate and operate equipment

Use of safety equipment as dictated by the work (safety glasses, safety shoes, respirators, face shields, hearing protection, gloves, etc.)

Exposure to moving mechanical parts

Exposure to noise levels above the OSHA action level requiring use of hearing protection.

Frequently

Lift and/or move up to 60 lbs.

Work in temperature extremes, wet and/or humid conditions, with dust, fumes, airborne particles, etc.

Occasionally

Sit

Handle (with mechanical equipment) up to 250 lbs.

Other

Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
