Masser Metals has an immediate opening for Experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to assist with our ongoing operations.
You will be responsible for :
The safe and efficient operations of Material Handlers and excavators to unload and load containers and semi trucks.
Assist in moving scrap metal of various sizes, shapes, and weights around the yards to be processed.
This position will work outside in varying weather conditions
Hours : 8:00am - 4:30pm (Monday - Friday)
8:00am - 12:00pm (Saturday)
Responsibilities :
Operate a hydraulic grapple or magnetic crane to lift, sort, load or unload scrap metal and debris in preparation for processing.
Provide a safe environment for all employees, customers, and visitors.
Basic sorting of scrap, as well as metal and debris in preparation for processing.
Perform daily inspections on equipment reporting any defects or needed repairs to the supervisor.
Determine load weights and verify against lifting capacities to prevent overloads and dangerous situations.
Qualifications :
Must have 3-5 years experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators and/or material handlers in a Construction, Demolition or Scrap Metal Setting.
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions;
Ability to use personal protective equipment and safety equipment required
Ability to carry out instructions provided in written or oral form.
Ability to learn new tasks as assigned required.
