Family owned import auto parts online retailer in Gahanna, Ohio is seeking a full time shipping and receiving associate weekdays 9-5. Hourly paid weekly, 6 paid holidays immediately, 5 paid personal days. 5 additional paid days off after 6 months of service. 6 weeks of on-the-job training provided. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor on-line storefront system for new orders
Print order pick-lists.
Organize order/shipment processing based on service (Express / Overnight vs. Ground)
Pull items from warehouse location and prepare as needed, (including surface cleaning of items) for shipping.
Assemble and pack items in boxes, padded envelopes or other packaging appropriately
Generate shipping labels for FedEx or USPS using the Shipworks application.
Crate / pallet / wrap larger items for freight shipment.
Calculate rates and generate bills of lading for freight shipments through provider portals (R&L, SAIA, etc.)
Ensure that orders receive appropriate insurance and custom features
Manage and maintain printing equipment
Procure supplies for shipping area (labels, tape, boxes, large boxes, newspaper, bubble wrap etc.)
Receive incoming packages/customer returns.
Work with customer service representatives to send replacement, sample and warranty shipments when necessary
QUALIFICATIONS:
Reliable transportation to and from work
Can lift up to 50lbs / Can climb rolling stairs for high shelf access
Window and MS Office applications, email, and PC-based applications.
Ability to learn and operate ship desk apps: Shipworks, FedEx Ship Manager, and USPS Click and Ship.
Ability to learn / understand inventory management and shopping cart/order fulfillment processes
Basic understanding of automotive parts and accessories.
COMPENSATION:
Hourly, paid weekly. Starting pay based on experience. 6 paid holidays immediately, 5 paid personal days. 5 additional paid days off after 6 months of service. Job performance reviews after first 6 weeks, and at 6-month intervals thereafter. Past experience with auto parts or fulfillment/packaging roles will greatly improve your consideration for the job and starting pay.
