Summary: The Crane Operator at Connect Housing Blocks is responsible for safely operating cranes to lift, move, and position materials needed in the production of modular housing units weighing approximately 20,000 lbs utilizing the operation of a 65 ton capacity rough terrain crane. Experience in Rough Terrain crane operation with capacities up to 100 tons and/or All Terrain crane operation with capacities up to 200 tons is encouraged experience. The Crane Operator position will be responsible for movement of modulars both at the production facility as well as on-site modular placement on projects located throughout central Ohio. This role ensures compliance with safety regulations and maintains equipment for optimal performance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely operate cranes, adhering to OSHA, MSHA, and Connect Housing Blocks’ safety protocols.
Inspect and maintain crane equipment, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and manufacturer specifications.
Work closely with riggers to prepare loads and ensure proper assembly of crane components.
Execute lift plans and follow written, verbal, and hand signal instructions.
Evaluate job sites for proper crane setup and complete job safety assessments.
Maintain detailed records of crane operations, including logs and job tickets.
Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training to ensure compliance and safety.
Assist with crane transportation and setup at various job sites as needed.
Provide support for special projects that require crane usage.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience
Must have a valid NCCCO Operator Certification with TLL Designation.
Valid NCCCO Rigger 1 Certification (preferred).
Valid NCCCO Signalperson Certification (preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of driving with overdimensional experience (required).
CDL A (required) with a clean driving record.
Must have a current DOT medical card.
Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Must be willing and able to travel occasionally, work overtime and weekends as needed.
Language Skills – Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with vendors, management, co-workers in English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires the ability to climb, balance, and work atop equipment, and the capacity to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. regularly.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is primarily outdoors, in all weather conditions, with exposure to moderate noise levels and heavy machinery. Safety equipment must be worn at all times.
