The Maintenance Technician routinely performs preventative maintenance on all equipment and components to ensure the continued safe, efficient, and effective operations of equipment used in the facility. This position also assists with maintaining parts inventory, organizing, and maintaining the maintenance shop, as well as inspecting and diagnosing malfunctions and breakdowns and performs repairs. This position must be able to take a proactive approach to preventative maintenance to improve equipment reliability and lifespan.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with occasional Saturday work.
Responsibilities
Completes routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshoots maintenance issues on standardized equipment
Responds to production requests for immediate attention to production line breakdowns
Assists in maintaining the organization of the maintenance shop and adequate parts inventory
Documents work completed as required including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
Communicates and collaborates with other departments, including production, warehouse, and quality, regarding the status of maintenance projects and needs
Participates in training, retraining, and continual improvement processes and methods
Ensures plant is maintained and in accordance with housekeeping policies and guidelines
Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations
Other duties as assigned.

Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be dependable and have excellent attendance
Must be available to work overtime as needed; with little, to no notice
Must be able to pass a forklift, boom lift, scissor lift, a respirator fit test
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Education and Experience
Two-year technical degree in maintenance related field or a combination of education experience.
Two years of experience as a Maintenance Technician preferred
Plastic extrusion experience preferred
Forklift and Scissor lift maintenance experience preferred
Basic electrical knowledge preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Working conditions in the role of a Maintenance Technician may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock and non-hazardous chemical agents
