Job Description

This role leads a corporate CI organization focused on the manufacturing network wide continuous improvement initiatives. The position also supports plant CI initiatives with local plant management and CI teams that are in need of guidance and support. The objective of the role is to positively impact manufacturing key performance indicators (KPIs) focused on safety, quality, delivery and cost. Additionally this position supports management of the project management office (PMO) by providing project templates, processes and reporting structure/cadence to ensure projects are managed, prioritized, and escalated as needed, and driven to on time and in budget completion.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Champion lean and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide essential direction to cross-functional teams within the manufacturing organization, including hands on support to drive manufacturing process improvements that positively impact KPIs
  • Improve the performance and quality of production, people, processes and equipment.
  • Implement new processes and systems that will improve our manufacturing capability and our ability to serve our customer.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate and partner with project managers (PMs) in sharing of knowledge and best practice in support of growing and sustaining a culture of CI
  • Assist in the project review, prioritization and on time completion of network wide business impact initiatives.
  • Design and implement Kaizen events to drive rapid lean process improvement
  • Provide the tools, training and coaching to the corporate CI team, and the local CI and management teams, to drive on the floor daily improvements, creating an army of teammates that support our CI efforts
  • Provide data analysis to ensure quality business decisions are made. Generate data/information for production departments so that they can better lead their areas and help identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Lead project execution with a hands-on attitude to drive the continuous improvement culture on the shop floor.
  • In partnership with operational leaders, ensure project cost and schedule targets are achieved, managing the implementation of projects and lean initiatives with teams.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent background with minimum of five year experience in manufacturing process operations.
  • 8+ years of experience involving Lean Transformation.
  • Experience driving improvement in a multi-site environment implied authority at the local level.
  • Plant/Operations leadership experience preferred
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate at all levels of the business – from on the floor skip level meetings to around a table with the executive leadership team.
