CLINICAL NURSE-CN-SUPP

The Clinical Nurse-CN-Supp is a registered nurse (RN) who partners with and advocates for patients/families/significant others to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support which impacts patient outcomes in a safe environment. The RN functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in the practice of Nursing. The RN utilizes the nursing process in conjunction with evidence-based principles to care for a diverse caseload of patients within the department scope of service. The RN serves as guide, healer, collaborator, teacher, leader and sentry. The RN collaborates with and guides care delivered by the inter-professional team. The RN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Code of Ethics and applicable regulatory standards.Education: Graduation from accredited school of nursing; BSN required or must obtain within 5 years of hire. Proof of enrollment required within 6 months of hire. RNs with min. 15 years of acute care hospital experience may elect to forgo the BSN requirement and sign a Professional Certification MOU which must be obtained with 3 years of hire.Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid Ohio RN license Current AHA BLS certification required at the time of hire.Experience: Minimum 1 year of RN experience is Required. Previous behavioral health experience is preferred.Knowledge/Skills:o Must be able to multitask with constant interruptions while maintaining a pleasant demeanoro Basic computer knowledgeo Strong organization skillso Effective interpersonal and communication skills

The Clinical Team Leader distributes the work of the unit in a manner that makes the best use of available resources, both personnel and material, and which take into account the knowledge, skills, and abilities of those persons who will be integral to the patient care process. The Clinical Team Leader provides ongoing coordination of work and resources as necessary to meet changing requirements in the work environment. On an ongoing basis, the Clinical Team Leader evaluates individual and collective outcomes of the patient care provided during their shift, compares patient care delivery to accepted standards, adjusts assignment of resources as necessary, and reports changing needs and outcomes to the health care staff. Because the Clinical Team Leader observes patient care delivery and outcomes as provided by coworkers, the Clinical Team Leader may be asked to contribute observations to individual employee evaluations, suggest competency evaluations, or to advise and educate fellow staff. These functions of the Clinical Team Leader should not, however, be constructed as supervisory in the sense of exercising control regarding employment decisions. The Clinical Team Leader is accountable for overall operation of an assigned unit during a specific time period but is not solely or personally responsible for the selection or discharge of employees of the health care facility. The Clinical Team Leader also serves as a Safety Coach on the unit promoting utilization of Hospital Acquired Condition Prevention and other Safety promotion behaviors.
