Applicants that do not meet these requirements will not be considered.SciTec is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer. We are supporting our National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) customer under the NOVASTAR contract. In this role, you will contribute to writing Docker containers and Kubernetes platform capabilities to facilitate streamlined use of AWS cloud and performing cloud engineering activities related to the NASIC Enterprise platform to assist with configuring Istio Service Mesh. We follow Agile methodologies, specifically SCRUM. We're leveraging CI/CD, TDD, and cloud (AWS) infrastructure.Responsibilities

Installation and management of cluster management services like service mesh, storage providers, and centralized logging

Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form with peers & decision makers

Experience in software delivery to DoD public cloud regions (C2S / GovCloud) and Kubernetes platforms

Demonstrated ability to automate complex workflows and processes

Navigating development teams through the benefits, trade-offs, and value of technology decisions

Write documentation to describe installation and trouble shooting procedures

Work collaboratively with multiple contractor teams

Stay current with trends in Kubernetes developing capability

Strong background in Linux, networking and system administration fundamentals

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

2+ years of professional work experience writing Docker containers

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

Proven track record of presenting to and influencing stakeholders and technical leadership

3+ years of experience with scripting languages like Python and Bash

2+ years of experience managing and deploying applications on Kubernetes environments (Helm / Kustomize / etc.)

Good verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work full-time in-person in Dayton, OH office location

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

Detail oriented

Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred

Experience with Argo Workflows and batch & stream based processing paradigms.

A current active DoD SECRET security clearance or higher

Experience with Kubernetes and Istio Service Mesh

Experience with Linux CLI and shell scripting

The pay range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
