Facility:Dayton Children\'s - Main CampusDepartment:Food ServicesSchedule:Part timeHours:20Job Details:The Food Service Worker - Runner delivers meals to patients who have placed their order through the Room Service program. The Runner works as a team with other Dietetics & Nutrition staff to ensure that the patient\'s Room Service experience is a positive one. The Runner is responsible for verifying that the meal is complete, in accordance with the diet order and delivered to the correct patient. The Runner must follow personal protective equipment precautions before entering a patient room. Duties also include cleaning and assisting the Cook as needed. This position involves a considerable amount of walking.

Demonstrates strong communication skills, accepts delegated tasks and has the knowledge and understanding to ask questions and report patient information as indicated. Appropriately handles patient information understanding confidentiality and privacy. Complies with the safety management program designed to provide a physical environment free of hazards and to reduce the risk of injury. Is knowledgeable about and responsive to the mission of the hospital. The PCA promotes a patient and family experience oriented environment and acts as a change agent to meet the rapidly changing census and needs of all customers-both internal and external. The PCA measures and records vital signs, intake and output, assists patients with activities of daily living, and provides safe transportation and environment for patients. The PCA II is cross trained to support the clinical and clerical sides of the business.
