NEXT ORIENTATION CLASS BEGINS APRIL 29, 2019
Supporting Independence, LLC is hiring full and part-time direct support professionals for Second and Third (awake and sleep sites) shifts to provide care for adults with developmental disabilities. Applicants must be available to work full 8 hour shifts and rotating weekends.
Ideal applicants will be comfortable with working independently or as a two person team, preparing special meals per doctor orders, assisting individuals with eating, showering, oral care, dressing, hair and nail care, toileting, administering medications per doctors orders including eye drops, topical meds, oral meds and medication administered via a gtube, hoyer transfers, pivot transfers, meal planning, grocery shopping, assisting with medical appointments, safely transporting individuals in full size company van with lift or personal vehicle, planning and implementing recreational and community outings, and any other tasks needed to ensure health and safety and enrich the lives of the individuals we serve.
Applicants will need a strong attention to detail, a strong work ethic, compassion, and a commitment to providing excellent care. Experience as a DSP, MHT, STNA, HHA or Caregiver preferred but will provide paid training for the right candidates. Retirees, College Students and recent High School Grads encouraged to apply.
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered:
18 years of age or older
High School Diploma or GED
Dependable transportation with insurance
Driver's License with less than 6 points
Clean background and drug screen
