SIGN ON BONUS

$21.50/hr for 60 days and a $250 signing bonus 1/3 up front 2/3 after 60 days of employment.

Prefer at least 3 years of barber shop management experience

Position Summary

The Manager is a key leader within GME’s 4 barbershops on Wright Patterson AFB, responsible for driving shop performance, cultivating company culture, and ensuring contract compliance at their assigned location(s). Reporting to the Area Supervisor, the Manager oversees day-to-day operations, financial performance, and team management to deliver exceptional service to our customers—primarily military personnel and their families.

Key Responsibilities

Operational & Financial Management

Oversee daily shop operations, ensuring adherence to GME standard operating procedures and personnel policies.

Manage staffing, scheduling, and workflow to align with business demands.

Verify timesheets and process payroll according to company policy, meeting all deadlines.

Complete required sales reporting and make daily deposits per policy.

Monitor and drive positive revenue growth through effective sales strategies and coaching.

Team Leadership & Development

Communicate organizational goals, processes, and performance expectations to team members.

Train and coach barbers/stylists on customer service excellence and operational best practices.

Conduct ongoing evaluations using the Manager’s Shop Checklist and Secret Shopper Evaluation.

Address performance issues promptly and provide corrective guidance.

Customer Experience & Contract Compliance

Ensure the shop meets daily sanitation and presentation standards.

Build and maintain positive relationships with Exchange personnel.

Ensure staff adheres to posted prices, works peak hours, and manages appointment rescheduling effectively.

Uphold all contract compliance requirements and escalate issues to the Area Supervisor as needed.

Business Culture & Engagement

Foster a professional, service-oriented environment aligned with GME’s values.

Develop relationships with customers and the local military community to strengthen brand loyalty.

Collaborate with the Area Supervisor to set priorities, resolve challenges, and identify opportunities.

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of standard business operations, industry trends, and product knowledge.

Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws/regulations related to the industry.

Effective leadership, team management, and employee development skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities with sound judgment.

Proficiency in POS systems and basic business software.

Ability to perform all industry services (Barbering and/or Cosmetology).

Flexibility to work varied shifts, including peak business times.

Requirements

Valid Barber or Cosmetology License.

Fluent in English; strong communication skills.

Comfortable with basic mathematics for scheduling, payroll, and reporting.

Prior experience in a military environment preferred, but not required.
