Role Summary:
As a Drain Technician, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing issues with residential drain and sewer systems, conducting cleanouts, performing repairs, and ensuring proper installation when necessary. You’ll operate specialized equipment and maintain accurate work records while delivering top-quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Use rods, jetters, and other equipment to clear clogs and blockages from drain lines
Conduct camera/video inspections to diagnose underground drain problems
Repair broken pipes using mechanical tools, cutting equipment, and basic welding techniques
Install new drainage systems, including septic and grease traps, in compliance with code
Perform routine equipment checks, maintenance, and minor repairs on drain cleaning tools
Inspect, diagnose, and recommend solutions for drainage and sewer system issues
Maintain clean and organized work environments
Communicate clearly with customers and team members
Use job management tools (such as Service Titan) to track jobs, log time, and manage details
Prepare material estimates and assist with project bids if needed
What We’re Looking For:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in drain cleaning and sewer system work
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in crawlspaces, trenches, and confined spaces
Proficiency with drain and camera equipment
Understanding of local plumbing codes and system layouts
Strong mechanical aptitude and physical stamina
Experience using field service software such as Service Titan (preferred but not required)
Professional demeanor, strong communication skills, and a problem-solving mindset
