The Technical Intelligence Department delivers impactful engineering analyses to rapidly transform current and future warfighter operations in contested and denied environments. We accomplish this through close interaction with our United States Air Force (USAF), United States Space Force (USSF), and other sponsors as well as with senior leadership in the Intelligence, Acquisition, and Warfighting communities. Our engineering analysis is informed by intelligence assessments of both adversarial kill chains and analysis of threats to US kill chains. We conduct engineering assessments of advanced and evolving threats, perform end-to-end effects chain analysis, develop digital engineering architectures for Intelligence applications, identify potential threat mitigation options, and perform experimentation of threat mitigation capabilities.The Technical Intelligence Department is seeking a Mission Outcome Leader to join our leadership team. The Technical Intelligence Department is seeking to accelerate and simplify the technology transition of Research & Development efforts that are enabled and supported by well-developed technical intelligence products as well as expand MITRE work in scale and diversity across AFRLThe Research & Technology Transition Outcome Leader is responsible for work program shaping, definition, executive and management relationship building, financial oversight and management, and defining/executing on the contractual requirements across AFRL Directorates and Sponsors. The Outcome Leader’s responsibilities include work shaping and increasing the scale and diversity of MITRE contributions across AFRL directorates; supporting the selection and mentoring of project and task leaders; providing inputs on strategic hiring needs; and, ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical work products that enable the accomplishment of appropriate sponsor strategic and project level outcomes.Roles and Responsibilities:Outcome Leader roles and responsibilities:
Strategize with Leadership across the A&SFC (e.g., A&SFC Vice President, Managing Directors, Department, etc) regarding the most challenging problems and mission needs shaping them into critical programs
Focus on how MITRE can help AFRL get technology into missions and operational solutions
Expand MITRE work in scale and diversity across AFRL
Work with MITRE labs to increase MITRE-Labs contributions and impacts to AFRL directorates and organizations
Develop and expand MITRE contribution/impact to the Integrated Capabilities Directorate (AFRL/RS) directorate enabling the Strategic Development Planning and Experimentation, or SDPE, office, and Transformational Capabilities Office capabilities
Manage Project Work Statements
Resolve sponsor conflicts regarding ongoing work program
Serve as a core member of the Department management team, providing thought leadership to devise and implement division and department strategies, furthering sponsor outcomes, rapidly assisting in the solving of delivery and quality issues.
Individual Contributor roles and responsibilities:
Apply interdisciplinary competencies in secure systems architecture and design, security operations, threat actor behavior, risk assessment, and network security to business and operational challenges, including technical IT and OT systems and military or other government operations
Develop tailored, engineering-level Intelligence products that provide deep insights into cyber threats and directly enable engineering research, experimentation, prototype development, acquisition, test and evaluation, and operational execution of cyber solutions
Use broad cyber expertise to solve cyber and non-cyber problems
Conduct cyber dependency and adversary analyses
Develop innovative offerings and identify opportunities for cyber capabilities by applying a mix of strategic and technical knowledge of network environments, information warfare, regulations, and specific domain requirements
Work collaboratively across MITRE to ensure that our sponsors benefit from the breadth of corporate expertise
Minimum Qualifications:
12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 10 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 7 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience
Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances
Familiarity with AFRL, AFRL Directorates, and AFRL Sponsors
Demonstrated experience leading outcomes and/or large, complex projects
Demonstrated ability to work across organizations and integrate efforts to achieve more impactful projects
Expertise/and or an understanding of relevant technology areas (e.g., systems engineering and software engineering)
Strong business acumen with ability to define new work opportunities
Substantial technical background with experience evaluating maturity of innovation areas for application to the work program
Excellent communication skills with all levels of sponsors and internal management and staff
Familiarity with, application of, and mentoring of MITRE behaviors: taking risks, being agile, and fast responsiveness to high priority needs
Candidate must be willing to operate effectively at high levels within MITRE sponsors and potential sponsoring organizations, recognizing and following through on opportunities in new areas and/or with new MITRE sponsors.Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience with MITRE Business processes to include MRT & PWS development
