Independently completes and leads the largest and most complex infrastructure project assignments. Plan, research, evaluate, design, and engineer the enterprise's technology infrastructure. Provide technical support and troubleshooting, cost estimates, justifications, and recommendations. Produces technical documentation, support and configuration. Helps manage, plan, and maintain technical platforms including upgrading systems. Monitor system performance, and install and configure hardware. Responsible for collaborating with other Job Families such as Project Managers, Architects, Solution Engineers, Technicians, Business Analysts to deliver consistent, reliable technology solutions that leverage AEP's technology standards, architectures and best practices.Job DescriptionEssential Job Functions:Responsibilities include the following related to Computer, Network, Storage, Cloud and End-User infrastructure: Lead projects and /or development activities related to highly specialized areas of technology.
Plan, research, evaluate, design and analyze performance of complex infrastructure systems.
Provide advanced level technical support and analysis, operation, administration, and troubleshooting activities. Prepare cost estimates, justifications, application requirements, alternative solutions, and technical recommendations for complex solutions.
Direct the preparation of technical documentation including procedures, manuals, reports and standards.
Lead, facilitate, and coordinate complex work activities of others within the work group or team. Adhere to budgeting and approval processes while leading annual and project planning.
Ensure all work activities are performed in accordance with the policies, practices, procedures, standards, and rules of the company and complies with the regulations and procedures required by external agencies.
Develop, recommend and implement plans throughout the organization to address complex issues.
Apply expert proficiency to identify, analyze, design, and initiate solutions to highly complex problems requiring specialized knowledge and /or problem-solving techniques.
Demonstrate expert and broad technical industry knowledge and of AEP infrastructure, environment, components, and facilities to enable more efficient and comprehensive responses to projects and problems.
Mentor and provide functional/technical leadership and work direction to staff.
Lead in the preparation and presentation of complex technology decisions and large projects, clearly, concisely, and persuasively, in a manner suitable for presentation to senior management.
Minimum Requirements:Infrastructure Engineer Staff (SG9):Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.Experience: 10 years of relevant work experience is required.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Infrastructure Engineer Lead (SG10):Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.Experience: 12 years of relevant work experience required.An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.Preferred Requirements:
2+ years of technical experience implementing and administering Microsoft Teams Voice
5+ years of experience managing large call manager telephony environments
Strong experience withVoice/VoIP managementtools and processes
Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Teams Voice
Advanced knowledge and experience withCisco Unified Call Manager
Strong knowledge and experience with SBC technologies (Oracle)
Strong understanding of call recording systems (Nice)
Strong E911 experience
Good knowledge and familiarity with Cisco UCS
Good experience with general networking technologies
