Job Title: FPGA EngineerActalent is seeking an FPGA engineer to support work in the defense and aerospace industry. The FPGA / digital engineer will design and develop custom high-speed digital signal-processing cards and firmware for next-generation precision tracking radars and radar cross-section (RCS) measurement systems. The work will require someone to be onsite and local to Columbus, OH.Responsibilities include capturing design requirements, designing and developing digital subsystems, performing VHDL/Verilog firmware development, working with embedded software engineers to develop architectures, performing hardware-in-the-loop testing, and generating product documentation (Interface Control Documents, theory of operation, etc.).Hard Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar
1+ years of professional working experience with Xilinx or Altera/Intel FPGA development
1+ years of professional working experience with VHDL Programming
Logic simulation experience (e.g., Vivado, Aldec)
Job TypeThis is a Contract-to-Hire position.Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Columbus, OH.Work EnvironmentWill have a private workspace. Day to day: 50% at desk, 50% in lab/floor. Freedom to pursue own tasks. Must be physically agile and able to support hands-on work with large indoor and outdoor radar systems. Must be able to lift, carry, and mount electronics equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. into chassis or structures. Mon-Fri in office. Core hours: 9:00am - 4:00pm, flexible outside of that as long as you hit an 8-hour day.
